On 26 October the annual Report on immigration carried out by Caritas has been presented contemporarily in different Italian cities. According to the data gathered, foreigners living in Italy represent 10% of the employed, affect by 11.1% the GDP, own 3.5% of the enterprises and contribute to the tax revenue by a taxable amount of over 33 billion euro. During the last 10 years, regular foreigners in Italy increased of about 3 millions units. Compared to the previous survey, the highest increase has been registered by the Asians (+11.6%), although the most massive presence is represented by Romanians (21%). The region with the highest number of immigrants is Lombardy, followed by Emilia Romagna and Lazio.
