According to ISTAT, in November 2010, exports increased by 20% over the same month last year, with a more sustained trend in markets outside the EU (22%) than in the European Union (+18.6%). Imports recorded an increase greater, equal to 28.3%, resulting from an increase of 39.5% of flows from non-EU countries and 20.7% from EU countries. In November 2010 the trade deficit amounted to EUR 3.4 billion, a value more than triple (- € 1 billion) over the same month last year. In the period January-November 2010 compared to same period of 2009, exports increased by 15.2%, with a more lively dynamics for non-EU countries (+16.5%) than EU (+14.3% ), while imports increased by 21.8% (+28.2% for the area outside of the EU, and +17% for the EU).
