In the first quarter of 2011, Istat points out the economic growth of exports for all regions, more marked for the north-western regions (+5.1%) followed by the regions of Southern Italy (+3.6%) than North-East (+3.4%) and Center (+2.9%). Among the regions that provide a significant contribution to national export growth, we report the Emilia-Romagna (+19.2%) and Lazio (+30.5%). Other notable increases in exports trend regarding Basilicata, Liguria and Sicily. In the EU markets, strong sales trend increases are recorded for Lazio, Sardinia, Abruzzi and Sicily. In the extra-EU markets the largest trend increases are found in Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Lazio and Sicily. The provinces that have contributed most to the expansion of national exports in the first quarter of 2011, representing more than a third of growth, are Milan, Brescia, Rome, Genoa, Vicenza, Bologna, Arezzo, Torino, Treviso and Syracuse.
