On 21 June 2011, at the Chamber of Deputies in Montecitorio, the President of the Antitrust Antonio Catricalà presented the annual report to Parliament, where he reported the disappearance of the system of liberalization and reforms from political agenda with the consequent risk of final stalling of the economic system already in deep crisis. The Authority has also denounced many situations in which particular interests of certain sectors have caused a closure of the markets. Catricalà identified in railroads, highways and airport management, banking and insurance governance the “areas where it is most needed the introduction of truly competitive market structures that can facilitate the resumption of growth.”
