Were presented in Imperia in the frame of a territorial working table, the results of the research “Are Banks Women’s Friends?” about the relationship between women entrepreneurs and banks, carried out by CNA Impresa Donna. The survey was realized between January and May 2011 and took into account 85 women entrepreneurs located throughout the province. The purpose of the survey was to analyze the relationship between entrepreneurs and banks, in particular the access to loans and credit lines. The research confirms that relationships with banks are frequent but not without difficulties, probably because there are entrenched and difficult to overcome stereotypes that often lead to renounce the project, with a probable damage that goes beyond the interests of individuals. Among the major demands that create discomfort is almost always the endorsement of a male figure, as if the corporate assets could not be enough. The respondents also reported as critical time and costs of transactions. Banks themselves often provide technical support, as normally happens at the European level, a support otherwise required from an external consultant or professional associations.
