The Study Centre of Confindustria for June estimated a contraction of industrial production by 0.1% over May (-0.6%). The distance from the pre-crisis peak of activity (April 2008) is -16.8% and the recovery from the lows of March 2009 is 12.5%. The second quarter showed an increase by 1.6% over the previous one. The low dynamic of the industrial activity "is penalized by a gradual slowdown in the global context after a good first quarter. This slows Italian exports to which sums up a domestic demand still weak."
