According to Istat, in the second quarter of 2011 there was a conjuncture growth in exports for all regions, more intense for the north-eastern regions (+4.4%). Follow South (+2%), the central regions (+1.4%) and North-West (+0.5%). Among the regions that provide the greatest contribution to national export growth is reported in Sicily (+29.2%) and Lazio (+20.8%). Significant increases also affect trends Liguria, Puglia and Abruzzi. In non-EU markets, strong sales increases are recorded for Calabria, Basilicata, Liguria, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Sicily. Increasing exports towards the EU area, less intense than towards the area outside the EU, regard especially Umbria, Puglia and Abruzzi. Particularly dynamic sales on foreign markets for metals and metal products from Lombardy (+24.9%) and Tuscany (+44.3%), machinery and equipment from Veneto (+29.5%) and Emilia-Romagna (+25.7%) and refined petroleum products from Sicily (+38.9%).
