The International Monetary Fund has lowered its estimates on the progress of Italian GDP to +0.6% from +1.0% for 2011 and from +1.3% to +0.3% for 2012. Even the estimates of growth in the eurozone have been revised downwards: from +2.0% to +1.6% for 2011 and +1.7% to +1.1% for 2012. According to the World Economic Outlook, global growth in 2011 will not go beyond 4.0%, i.e. -0.3% compared with the estimates in June. For 2012, the downward revision is 0.5%.
